An extraordinary collection

Our highlights tour explores the full range of IWM’s extraordinary collection; from a painting depicting civilians sheltering from an air raid in Elephant and Castle Tube station in 1918, to the original metal mould of the first Atomic Bomb.

Learn about the desperate vengeance weapons of the Axis powers including the Nazi V2 rocket, which was fired almost into orbit, and then down onto London.

Discover our newly acquired Japanese ‘Ohka’, a kamikaze ‘human bomb’.

Examine a shrapnel-pitted field-gun and learn about the brutal artillery exchange that it was involved in.
