Open to everyone, Conflict Café is a free, drop-in event on IWM London’s Roof Terrace. Take the opportunity to sit down and meet and hear from experts and people with lived experience of war and conflict.
To coincide with the opening of War and the Mind, a major new exhibition at IWM London, IWM is partnering with the charities Combat Stress and Soldier's Arts Academy to host informal conversations with veterans, their family members, clinicians, IWM curators and academic consultants on the subject of the psychological impact of war and conflict.
The event also includes live musical performances from the Soldier's Arts Academy choir.
Event may feature discussions around difficult or sensitive themes. Adult discretion is advised.

About the venue
The Roof Terrace is a spectacular event space, dramatically suspended from the barrel-vaulted glass roof of IWM London and as if hanging in mid-air. Designed by Foster + Partners, the Roof Terrace with its dramatic bridge and views of the galleries below also provides a spectacular view of the Dome, once the chapel belonging to Bedlam, designed by Sidney Smirke.

Performance by Soldier's Arts Academy
Each session ends with a ten-minute performance by a choir from the Soldier's Arts Academy. They’ll perform a song composed with Soprano Laura Wright in response to the content of War and the Mind, as well as two songs chosen as resonating with their lives and experiences as veterans.
