As a global authority on conflict and its impact on people’s lives, IWM wants to engage with people from all over the world. Our social media activity is focused on helping people to learn more about and engage with our family of five museums, our wider public programme and collections.
We welcome discussion and debate on IWM channels, but we ask that all users abide by our Social Media House Rules:
1. All users must comply with the social media platform's Terms of Use, as well as those outlined here.
2. You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content that you choose to share.
3. We will remove, in whole or in part, posts which we feel are inappropriate, irrelevant, or deemed spam (persistent negative and/or abusive tweeting in which the aim is to provoke a response). Users who post such material will be blocked from accessing IWM channels.
4. We will report and remove any social media profiles falsely claiming to represent IWM, or using IWM logos and branding without our consent.
5. We will block and/or report users who direct message, or direct-tweet us with content we believe is:
- Abusive or obscene
- Graphic, sensitive or offensive imagery
- Harassment of IWM staff or volunteers
- Deceptive or misleading
- In violation of any intellectual property rights
- In violation of any law or regulation
- Spam
