Recollections of training as pilot and instructor with Royal Air Force in Canada and GB, 1941-1944: voyage from GB to Canada via Iceland; pattern of flying training in Canada; posting as flying instructor; return to GB and question of choice of which RAF command; training on Hawker Hurricane; training flights intercepting Avro Lancaster aircraft at RAF Coningsby; posting to RAF Aston Down, 5/1944. Recollections of operations as pilot with 197 Sqdn, No 146 Wing, No 84 Group, 2nd Tactical Air Force, RAF in GB and North West Europe, 1944-1945: joining squadron, 7/6/1944.
