REEL 1: Recollections of period in London, Oxfordshire and Croydon, Surrey, GB, 1939-1945: born in hospital at Denmark Hill; story of being evacuated to farm in Oxfordshire the day before the outbreak of war, 2/Sep/1939; description of work on farm harvesting potatoes and runner beans; wages; description of work in factory making military headgear for Allied and Russian servicemen; cycled seven miles to work every day; description of using cardboard covers for bicycle lights during blackout; working hours and wages; returned to home in London, c.
