REEL 1 Recollections of period as trooper with 6th Royal Tank Regt, 4th and 7th Armoured Bdes in North Africa, 1940-1942: period with 40th Royal Tank Regt, Territorial Army in Liverpool, 1939; joining regiment in Cairo, Egypt; character of unit tanks; move of B Sqdn to Khartoum, Sudan; in action against Italian forces; capture and use of poor quality Italian Army tanks; retreat to Tobruk, Libya; evacuation from Tobruk, Libya; re-equipping with Crusader Tank; opinion of British manufactured tanks; in action at Battle of Sidi Rezegh, Libya, 18/11/1941-30/12/1941. REEL 2 Continues: story of sinking of MV Thermopylae in Mediterranean on route to Malta and rescue by HMS Havock, 19/1/1942; finding body parts in damaged tanks; second attempt to get to Malta aboard SS Clan Campbell, 3/1942; driving vehicles to Iraq to hand over to Soviet Army; burns accident in Haifa, Palestine; re-equipping with M3 Grant Tank; wounding during action at Knightsbridge Box, Libya, 6/1942; duties with General Bernard Montgomery's Tank Protection Troop, General Headquarters, Eighth Army in Egypt, 1942; duties on leaving unit; attitude to having served with 6th Royal Tank Regt during the Second World War.
