REEL 1 Background in Cork, Ireland and GB, 1913-1939: family; education; enlistment in Royal Artillery, British Army, 1933. Recollections of period as officer with Indian Artillery, British Indian Army in India, 1939-1941: service with 6th Jacob's Mountain Bty at Nowshera; quality of sepoys and NCOs; posting to 13th Dadoni Mountain Bty at Razmak on North West Frontier; commanding 15th Jhelum Mountain Bty during action against Pathans near Todachina, 12/1940; performance of his battery during action near Todachina; shooting down of Royal Air Force Westland Lysander by Pathans near Todachina, 12/1940.
