REEL 1 Background in Soberton Heath and Birmingham, GB, 1924-1942: family; education; German Air Force bombing in Great Barr and Lozells, Birmingham; effect of German Air Force bombing on public morale. Aspects of enlistment and training with Royal Navy in GB, 1942-1943: joining Royal Navy; length of training at HMS Collingwood, Fareham and Fort William; drafting to Coastal Forces, 1943. Recollections of operations as seaman aboard MTB 666, Coastal Forces in GB coastal waters and North Sea, 1943-1944 including sinking 5/7/1944: joining boat at Poole, GB; working up; clothing worn; role taking agents and supplies to Norway; collecting Christmas trees in Norwegian fjord; transporting noisy Norwegians back to GB.
