REEL 1 Recollections of operations commanding HMS Invincible during Falklands War in South Atlantic, 4/1982-6/1982: reaction to hearing that ship was to be sent to South Atlantic, 4/1982; recalling crew; problems arranging daughter's birthday party, 2/4/1982; lack of problems in obtaining supplies and sense of unity of purpose; reaction to send off from Portsmouth, GB; Fleet Air Arm pilot's training on route; contrast in his approach to training for action and that of Captain Lin Middleton of HMS Hermes; relations with media people aboard ship; reads telegram sent to Chief of Staff; method of obtaining ship's gearbox.
