REEL 1 Aspects of period as officer with 7th Rajput Regiment in India, 12/1945-2/1947: opinion of India and Indians; Hindu-Muslim relations; Hindu-Muslim relations in unit; degree of communal unrest in Fatehgar, 1946-1947; hostility to British presence among young educated populace in Calcutta; reflections on leaving India 2/1947. Recollection of operations as officer with 1st Bn Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, 29th British Infantry Bde in North and South Korea, 11/1950-10/1951: arrival in South Korea, 11/1950; attitude of reservists who had been prisoners of war in the Far East towards Koreans; initial role after disembarkation at Pusan, South Korea; opinion of short term nature of the war; first engagement 31/11/1950.
