REEL 1 Recollections of period as prisoner of war on Burma-Thailand Railway, 1942-1945: purchasing batteries for illicit radio set at Takunun Camp; distribution of news; question of reliability of Indonesians in Dutch forces; construction of radio set; impact of news from radio on morale of camp; preventing discovery of radio at Chungkai Camp; fate of radio set at end of Second World War, 8/1945; receiving secret message from Office of Strategic Services (OSS), 7/1945; attempt to return to Malaya on liberation. REEL 2 Continues: question of Japanese plan to kill prisoners of war in 1945.
