REEL 1 Aspects of period as officer with 4/5th Bn Royal Gurkha Rifles (Frontier Force) in India, 1942-1943: background to transfer to British Indian Army, 1942; joining 1/5th Bn Royal Gurkha Rifles (Frontier Force); character of Gurkha regiments and officers; breath of Gurkha regiments he served with; contrast between eastern and western Nepalis; rations; memories of John Masters; opinion of Gurkhas troops. REEL 2 Continues: question of loyalty amongst Gurkha troops; story of recruiting Gurkhas at time of Indian Participation, 1947; reputation of Gurkhas as fighting troops; Gurkha attitude towards British officers.
