REEL 1 Memories of reaction to declaration of Second World War whilst student with Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts, London, GB, 3/9/1939. Recollections of enlistment and training with Royal Armoured Corps in GB, 1940-1941: background to call-up for military service, 9/1940; reasons for choice of Royal Armoured Corps; comparison between Royal Military College Sandhurst and Royal Armoured Corps Officer Cadet Training Unit, Blackdown; comparison between regular and Hostilitie Only (HO) officers; relations between officers and other ranks; attitude to having attended Royal Military College Sandhurst. Aspects of period as officer with 22nd Dragoons and staff officer with Headquarters, 30th Armoured Bde in GB and North West Europe, 1941-1945: commanding officer's policy to dealing with unsatisfactory junior officer; liaison officer duties with Headquarters, 30th Armoured Bde at Warminster, GB.
