REEL 1 Speech: Hermann Rink introduces report in dramatic way, stressing ceaseless harrassment of enemy off his own coast; describes the captain rushing to the bridge after a report of an enemy ammunition ship in the vicinity; background noise of general activity on board submarine; evocative description of the "unbelievable tension" as the submarine approaches the ship, torpedoes at the ready; firing of torpedo and further tension as they wait for hit; after hit, Rink describes the scene - flames and smoke reach 200m into the air; crew of damaged ship rushes to life boats. Report closes with song "U-Boote Fahren".
