German PK propaganda report from U-boat off east coast of US 1/1942
Hermann Rink introduces report in dramatic way, stressing ceaseless harrassment of enemy off his own coast. He describes the captain rushing to the bridge after a report of an enemy ammunition ship in the vicinity. Background noise of general activity on board submarine. Evocative description of the "unbelievable tension" as the submarine approaches the ship, torpedoes at the ready. Firing of torpedo and further tension as they wait for hit. After hit, Rink describes the scene - flames and smoke reach 200m into the air; crew of damaged ship rushes to life boats. Report closes with song "U-Boote Fahren".
