REEL 1 Aspects of period as NCO with Royal Corps of Signals attached to Malaya Command in Singapore, Malaya, 1/1942-2/1942: role of Malaya Command Signals; situation in city, 2/1942; orders not to escape; running into Japanese mourning party, 13/2/1942; capture, 2/1942. Recollections of period as prisoner of war in Changi Camp, Singapore, Malaya, 2/1942-9/1942: march to camp; camp organisation; concealment of secret radios and news distribution; execution of attempted escapers; aid from Chinese civilians; Japanese execution of Chinese; requirement for prisoners of war to bow to Indian National Army guards; recieving slaps from Sikh Indian National Army guard; work parties.
