REEL 1 Aspects of enlistment and training with Royal Air Force at No 1 Depot, Royal Air Force at RAF Uxbridge in GB, 1925: background to joining Royal Air Force, 1925; reception; preliminary training; exhibition drilling; contrast between Royal Air Force and army discipline. Recollections of period as armourer with No 5 Flying Training School, RAF at RAF Sealand in GB, 1925-1927: work on firing; character of interrupter gear; shooting at Bisley Shooting Ground at Bisley; use of camera guns; standard of marksmanship; problems with Lewis Gun and clearing stoppages; daily routine; character of Royal Air Force uniform; types of aircraft used at school; degree of contact between air and ground crews; attending driving course at No 2 School of Technical Training, RAF Manston, 1927. REEL 2 Continues: Recollections of period as armourer with Royal Air Force in Iraq, 1927-1929: posting to Iraq, 1927; changes in attitude of Arabs between 1919 and 1927; account of military service with 4th Bn Royal Fusiliers during Hilliah rebellion, Iraq, 1919-1920; duties ferrying oil supplies from RAF Hinaidi to Rutbah Wells, 1927; supplying landing grounds.
