REEL 1 Aspects of period as student with Cambridge University in GB, 8/1914: rumours of possible German invasion during trip with Cambridge Inter-Collegiate Christian Union to Isle of Wight, 8/1914; question of attitude as Christian to participation in war and conscientious objection; realisation of approach of war; attendance at religious talks. Aspects of period as private with 1st East Anglian Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps in GB, 8/1914-12/1914: enlistment; treating wounded at Cambridge. Aspects of period as officer with 1/6th Bn Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regt) at Doncaster, GB, 12/1914-4/1915: question of lack of training on commissioning as officer; opinion of officers.
