REEL 1 Recollections of enlistment and flying training with Royal Naval Air Service at Grahame-White Flying School, Hendon Aerodrome in GB, 4/1915-5/1915: enlistment, 4/1915; start of flying training on Grahame-White Type XV Box-kite, 4/1915; instructors; air speed indicator; method of dual training; flying 'straights'; flying restricted by weather conditions; qualification tests as pilot; story of giving mechanic a flight. Aspects of period as officer with Royal Naval Air Station Chingford, GB, 1915: aircraft flown. REEL 2 Continues: opinion of failed attempt to shoot down Zeppelin; story of assisting naval officer to qualify as pilot. Aspects of period as officer with Royal Naval Air Stations Calshot and Bembridge, GB, 1915: learning to fly Short Type 184 seaplane; flying FBA Type A Flying Boat; forced landing in sea; anti-submarine patrols; flying Nieuport VI monoplane seaplane.
