[The Custom House and Port of London Authority building. The Port of London. The Port of London Authority is a self-governing and non-
subsidised Public Utility Service. The Board is composed of appointed representatives of Government Departments and Public Bodies, and
elected representatives of Shipowners, Merchants and other users of the Port. The Port Authority's rates and charges are designed to
produce revenue sufficient to cover operating costs and fixed interest charges. The aim of the Authority is to provide the best service at
the lowest cost for all users of the Port. The Authority has a world-wide reputation second to none for efficiency. This picture shows a
