text: FIGHTER AIRCRAFT IN ACTION
ST. LUCIA
Subscriptions from St. Lucia have helped to buy fighter aircraft for Britain. These fighters protect British homes and industries from
aerial attack and harass enemy shipping and transport.
When enemy bombers approach Great Britain, fighter squadrons take off and drive them away. Here is a fighter shooting down an enemy bomber
over one of Britain's industrial towns.
Fighter Command also take part in offensive sweeps over enemy-occupied territory and cause much damage to shipping and transport and
communications with their machine-gun fire.
Fighter aircraft also have the job of protecting merchant shipping from hostile aircraft. Many vital cargoes have reached port only because
of the watchful presence of fighter planes.
Thank you, St. Lucia!
Other war gifts from St. Lucia include subscriptions to the Aid to Russia Fund, and towards an A.R.P. ambulance.
