text: YOUR TANKS IN ACTION
Generous contributions from Basutoland have helped to buy British tanks. An important attack is planned against an enemy post in the
Western Desert.
Tanks are prepared for battle and infantrymen check over their equipment. The signal for attack is given and the British tanks advance.
With infantrymen following hard behind, the tanks move remorselessly across the desert, scorning enemy fire. Their own guns blaze at the
enemy post.
German resistance is overcome and many Axis prisoners are taken. The Swastika flag is hauled down and the Union Jack takes its place.
Thank you, Basutoland!
Other war gifts from Basutoland include contributions to His Majesty's Government for the prosecution of the war, part of which was used to
form the Basutoland squadron of 'Spitfires,' contributions for Air Raid Relief, British Red Cross Society, mobile canteens, Aid to Russia,
and many other funds.
