text: AN ANTI-AIRCRAFT WELFARE CENTRE
Throughout Great Britain the Anti-Aircraft gun crews are always on duty. Theirs is a lonely life, for often they are far from the nearest
town. Here is a gun crew going into action against enemy raiding aircraft.
After their spell of duty the crew make their way to their living quarters while another crew take their place. Their off-duty times are
not usually long enough for them to get into the nearest town.
The Anti-Aircraft Welfare Fund provides many things for the comforts of these soldiers. Games, reading material, warm woollen scarves and
Balaclava helmets - many things that help to make life in an isolated part of the country more bearable.
Thank you, Grenada!
Other war gifts from Grenada include subscriptions to the Aid to Russia Fund, King George's Fund for Sailors, and the R.A.F. Benevolent
Society.
