text: YOUR BOMBERS IN ACTION
SIERRA LEONE
Contributions towards bomber aircraft have been presented to Great Britain by the people of Sierra Leone. Here are some British bomber
crews preparing for a big raid on Germany.
As the aircraft near their targets, they have to dodge enemy searchlights, anti-aircraft gun-fire and sometimes enemy night-fighter planes.
Once over their targets, down go the bombs!
SIERRA LEONE
Big explosions occur and fires begin to blaze as the bombs hit their targets of war factories, railways and power plants. The British
bombers turn for home, their task successfully accomplished.
Home again after the raid, the bomber crews climb out of their planes and go to make their reports. Sierra Leone bombers have taken part in
some of the big raids.
Thank you, Sierra Leone!
Other war gifts from Sierra Leone include Fighter Aircraft and contributions to the War Charities Fund for Air Raid Relief, Mobile
Canteens, Aid to Russia, Red Cross, Prisoners of War Fund and many other funds.
