text: YOUR CANTEEN IN ACTION
Presented by the peoples of NYASALAND
Money subscribed by Nyasaland has bought a trailer canteen for Britain's war front. As the dusk falls, it gets ready for active service if
the sirens should go.
The sirens wail their warning to a sleeping city and Air Raid Precaution workers and firemen get ready to fight the blitz. People run to
the shelters. The bombs drop and the anti-aircraft guns reply.
In the cold light of dawn the enemy bombers depart. The A.R.P. workers and firemen are tired and thirsty and many people have lost their
homes in the night's blitz. They are glad to see the Nyasaland trailer canteen arrive. A little group clusters around the canteen, enjoying
hot drinks and food after a terrible night.
Thank you, Nyasaland!
Other war gifts from Nyasaland include contributions for the purchase of military aircraft, subscriptions for the British Red Cross and St.
John Fund, King George's Fund for Sailors, Air Raid Relief, St. Dunstan's, Grimsby Fishermen's Fund, Malta Relief, and many War Charities.
