text: YOUR MINESWEEPER IN ACTION
At night, German planes and 'E' boats sow mines in our shipping lanes ... hundreds of tons of deadly explosives fall into the sea in an
attempt to prevent British convoys from reaching their objective.
H.M.S. TANGANYIKA
A convoy sets forth at dawn. Vital food supplies and armaments are carried by these merchant ships to all theatres of war. The convoy is
preceded by a minesweeper to ensure safety for its passage.
The minesweeper's instruments discover an enemy mine in the path of the convoy. It is brought to the surface and firmly disposed of by
rifle fire and brilliant marksmanship by the gunners.
The convoy reaches port and willing dockers rapidly unload it. Thanks to minesweepers who keep our shipping lanes free, Britain delivers
the goods where they are most needed.
Thank you, Tanganyika!
Other gifts include Fighter Aircraft, Mobile Canteens, contributions to War Relief and Welfare Fund for Air Raid Relief, Red Cross, King
George's Fund for Sailors, Aid to Russia, St. Dunstan's and many other funds.
