This pre-war army film poster was adapted at the beginning of the First World War to act as a recruiting poster for the
British Army. In so doing it became, unofficially, the first 'pictorial' recruitment poster to be used in Britain. The first 'official'
recruitment poster to feature an image was 'Rally Round the Flag' (see IWM PST 0334), commissioned by the War Office in
