Brown metal cross on which is embossed in the centre two male figures: the figure to the left clade in medieval wear with head to the left and supporting a large bow which rests on the floor in left hand, a bunch of arrows held between his right arm and side, and an arrow in his right hand; the figure to the right stands frontally with head facing forward with arms clasped in front of him, clade in 19th century infantry uniform wearing a helmet, sash and moustache and supporting a large rifle against his right side. Above the figures on the upper arm reads "NRA", below on the lower arm reads "BATTALION RECRUIT", on the horizontal arm to the left reads "1300 1500" and to the right "1860". Reverse reads "WUN BY PTE F.S. HARVERSON 1904". In red box with red velvet and silk, on the inner lid King's crown in gold and below reads "ELKINGTON & CO LD MEDALLISTS".
