Physical description
RAF blue Women's Royal Air Force double breasted greatcoat, with eight well polished King's Crown and eagle design buttons to front, turned over collar and turned up cuffs, false belt to rear with two RAF brass buttons, and shoulder straps retained by small RAF brass buttons. Shoulder straps have black with central light blue rank insignia (Air Commandant WRAF), with brass king's crown and George VI cypher attached. Air Commandant Felicity H. Hanbury, D.B.E.
History note
Air Commandant Dame Felicity Peake served as the last Director of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force from 1946 to 1949 and the founding Director of the Women's Royal Air Force from 1949 to 1950. She was married to Air Commodore Sir Harald Peake.
