Black full-faced rubber respirator with screw-on side filter made of metal, a khaki leather and canvas strap assembly. The rubber is stamped in white paint various markings including GD BD [in a circle] and GD LQ [in a circle]. The filter is similarly stamped but also includes 7.5.86 and PR.245A, stamped into the rubber are two circular motifs one bears 1987 L.B.R Co. the other bears 82 SR6/2 GD.
The respirator is contained in its original green plastic haversack. The haversack contains two integral internal pockets, two elasticated light green straps on the inside of the cover flap, the flap is sealed with two patches of velcro and a pop stud fastening, there is a pocket on one side sealed by velcro. There is a green canvas shoulder strap linke by metal clasp to the D-link. Stamped on the inside of the flap in black ink is a indecipherable NATO stock number and L.S. [broad arrow] 86.
Held within the pockets on the inside of the haversack are, sealed in plastic sleeves, a decontamination kit, personal, No. 2, Mk 1 consisting of plastic bottle of unknown powder, bottle is wrapped in an instructional label; a decontamination kit, personal, No. 1 Mk 1 consisiting of sachets wrapped in beige paper bearing instructions for use, stamped in black ink RPUK SEPT 1985. A pad of dectector paper (blue binding), chemical agent, No. 2 Mk 2, liquid one colour and a pad of detector paper (green binding), chemical agent, No. 1 Mk 2, liquid free colour.
