Pouch & pouch belt
Red morocco leather shoulder belt decorated with parallel double horizontal bars of gold wore embroidery (with one wavey bar in the centre). At one end of the shoulder belt is a gilt open floral decorated buckle with a triangular-shaped end-piece featuring the monogramme, 'RE'. Attached to the other end of the belt is a black rectangular-shaped pouch made of patent leather (congealed) that features a gilt RE insignia to the centre (fitted with Imperial Crown).
Full dress accoutrement of an officer of the Royal Engineers.
Brigadier Arthur Bertram Ogle, OBE, RE, born 1883. Joined RE in 1901, served in the Great War 1914-19. Colonel 1931 and Chief Engineer. Air Defence Formations TA 1932-35, Commander 27 AA Brigade TA 1935. Retired 1941. Major 9th Surrey Battalion Home Guard 1942. Father in law Brigadier Basil Chichester-Cooke, CBE (qv).
