Double-breasted light khaki duck material 3/4 length overcoat. Coat features an open neck with a broad turn-down collar that is faced with khaki serge. A length of brown artificial fur has been added to the outside collar as a personal modification.
There are two rows of four plastic buttons to the front, with smaller buttons to secure an adustable strap for tighter fit at each lower cuff.
There are two horizontal rectangular pocket flaps, one to each lower hip of the skirt & internally the coat is fully lined with khaki serge, including the sleeves.
There is a fitted belt, complete with blackened brass buckle, the belt being also lined with serge.

British made version of the US Makinaw, or 'Jeep Coat', associated with Major Aonghais (Angus) Fyffe.
Fyffe served as an NCO with 49 FSS, based in the Scottish Highlands 1940-41. Commissioned into the Intelligence Corps in 1941 for SOE duties, he served with the Spanish Section until being assigned as Head of Security for SOE's No 6 Workshop School at Inverlair, where agents who were partially trained and deemed as unfit for operational tasks were held. In 1942 he was appionted Chief Security Officer for SOE in Scotland, and in 1944 joined the Security Section at HQ SOE, Baker Street. From 1945-46 Fyffe was sent to Germany as an Intelligence Officer with ME 42, the SOE German Mission, where he was engaged in tracing the fate of missing SOE agents and in assessing the impact of SOE operations in Germany.
