Jumper, Dress, Blue: Fireman, Machinist's Mate Striker (USS Fort Snelling), US Navy
Long-sleeved pullover jumper of dark blue woollen cloth, featuring a shawl collar that opens in a V-shape from the chest and turns into a square neck flap at the back, a horizontal slash pocket to the left breast and double button cuffs. Three stripes of white tape border the collar neck flap, with an embroidered white star in each corner, while the cuffs also feature three stripes of white tape with closed ends.
Sewn directly below the shoulder-sleeve seam on both arms are shoulder titles with the text 'U.S.S. FORT SNELLING' embroidered in white thread on dark blue backing. On the upper left arm is sewn the striker's mark associated with the Machinist's Rating, being a three-bladed propellor embroidered in white thread on a dark blue backing. Directly below this is sewn the group-rate mark of Fireman Apprentice, being three diagonal stripes of red cloth on a dark blue backing. Directly above the left breast slash pocket is sewn the medal ribbon for the National Defense Service Medal.
