General Sir Cecil Stanway Sugden GBE KCB (1903–1963) was a senior British Army officer who became Master-General of Ordnance. Commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1923, he served in the Second World War in North Africa, becoming Director of Plans at the War Office in 1943. Following peace, Sugden became Director of Military Operations in 1945, then as Brigadier he served on the General Staff in Egypt, 1947, becoming Chief of Staff in 1948. In 1949 he returned to the War Office as Director of Personnel Administration, later appointed Chief of Staff, BAOR in 1951. In 1954 he became Commander British Forces at Hong Kong then rose to become Commander-in-Chief Allied Forces Northern Europe in 1956. From 1958-1961 he was Quartermaster-General to the Forces, retiring after serving as Master-General of Ordnance.
