Fragment of brittle transparent plastic (11cm x 7.5cm x 1cm) from S.E.5 (Scout Experimental), in relic condition.
The S.E.5 (Scout Experimental) was produced by the Royal Aircraft Factory at Farnborough, it was the parent design company for various aircraft.
This S.E.5 fragment was picked up by the brother of Captain Albert Ball when the British Forces moved forward. This machine was that on which Captain Ball (V.C., D.S.O.) made his last flight over Annouelin, near Lille, 7th July 1917.
