Trapezium-shaped piece of teak with circular thermometer inset in the front, the dial bears a temperature scale '-20 to 140 fahrenheit' and is also inscribed 'ROTHERHAM PAT NO. 378314', there is a rectangular metal plaque screwed into the top which is engraved with the following inscription 'PRESENTED TO HER MAJESTY QUEEN MARY ON THE OCCASSION OF HER VISIT TO R.A. LISTER & CO. LTD. DURSLEY GLOUCESTERSHIRE, MARCH 21st 1940', a second plaque fixed to the front of the teak reads 'TEAK FROM HMS COLLINGWOOD COMMISSIONED 1910-1922 JUTLAND'.
Thermometer of teak from HMS Collingwood, commissioned 1910-1922, in which His Majesty King George VI served at the Battle of Jutland. Presented to Her Majesty Queen Mary on her visit to Messrs. R.A. Lister & Co. Ltd., Dursley, Gloucestershire, 21st March 1940.
