Souvenir trench art knife, the handle is made from a rifle cartridge and the blade is made from a flat shaped piece of bronze metal, one side of the blade bears an engraved inscription 'Pagette Wood' surrounded by engraved border and a branch bearing two leaves, the other side is engraved 'Merville' and also decorated with a branch bearing two leaves and additional leaves to the side.

Typical of war souvenirs made from rifle cartridges, pieces of shell, cartridge cases etc, brought home by soldiers from the Front.
