Arthur Horwood Eames died on 1st July 1916 serving as Second Lieutenant with the 1st Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment -a casualty of the First Day of the Battle of the Somme. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
