Description

Physical description

Sealed pack of playing cards inside a grey card box (L 9cm x W 6cm x D 1.5cm). The faces of the cards carry quotes about the conduct of the US component of the war with Iraq in 2003. The pack's cover bears the title 'Operation Hidden Agenda'.

Label

Iraq War pack of playing cards. The faces of the cards are furnished with ironic comments relating to the precise motives for and conduct of the US-led 'Coalition' invasion and occupation of Iraq.

History note

These cards were designed by Kathy Eder in July 2003 in San Jose, California. Eder, a high school teacher, was fed up with the Bush administration's very popular 'Most Wanted Iraqi' playing cards featuring Saddam Hussein and 'Chemical Ali'. She made her own deck, 'Operation Hidden Agenda', which featured members of the Bush administration and comment on their role in the Iraq War.
