badge: a star similar to that of the Order of the Garter but with a crown displacing the uppermost point; on the star another star similar to that of the Order of the Bath on the four arms of which are inscribed battle honours; in the centre of the latter star a circle inscribed Arroyo dos Molinos 1811 and within the circle a voided dragon superscribed China on a ground of one third white and two thirds red; below the latter star, a laurel wreath; on the bottom portion of the former star, a scroll inscribed The Border Regt; the whole in white metal except for the fixing bar (gilding metal) and a small piece of red felt backing the dragon
card: headed CB 0331 Royal Army Clothing Department Pattern No. 4495B Badges Cap; inscribed beneath badge, Border R; approved 19/3/34; authority given as MGO7B 7535/34 29/3/34; signed AB Arding; further inscribed, To be fitted with vertical shank type fastening
seal: the shield of the Arms of the Board of Ordnance encircled Chief Inspector

badge: Arroyo dos Molinos refers to an action in the Peninsular War which occurred on 28/10/1811; the Border Regiment is the only regiment to bear this honour
