A gilt, 35 line button incorporating a 0.2cm plain border encircling an inner rope border. Within the rope border, on a lined background, is an anchor placed vertically, surmounted by an eagle with outstretched wings, below the anchor is a sprig of laurel leaves, on the left and a sprig of oak leaves on the right.
The back is marked Waterbury B***** Co. (The word 'button' is partially illegible through wear).
This button was worn by members of the US Coast Guard and US Coast Guard Auxiliary on the blue uniform jacket.
