A black wool irregular pentagon with square top and pointed bottom. Upon the black field is a white embroidered eagle with outstretched wings looking to its left wing, 4.6cm in height. Below the eagle is an eight-spoked ship's wheel. Below this are three red chevrons. On the reverse of the top chevron is the embroidered manufacture date '1941'.
