Physical description
A black wool 120 degrees chevron. Upon the black field are three red braid chevrons, 1.2cm wide and 14.0cm across.
The badge has no backing material.
There are two small holes in the bottom chevron that look to be moth damage.

This is the Royal Navy badge for thirteen years Good Conduct .
The badge was worn on the upper left sleeve of the working rig uniform, below any rate badges.
Between 1860 and 1946, the first GC stripe was awarded after only three years, the second after a further five and the third after a further five year period, totalling thirteen years for three stripes. From 1946, each stripe has been awarded after a period of four years service, taking twelve years to gain all three.
