Stone Street was a communication trench (map ref.57d SE) at Courcelette on the Somme battlefield. A number of other communication trenches were also named Stone Street these were 1. from Mobb Street, about a mile SW of Messines, Belgium (28.T. 6.b.8.1.) 2. north of Loos (36 c.G.12.d.) 3. leading to front line and Pulpit Crater, east of Neuville-St.Vaast near Arras (51b.A.4c) see FEQ 27 re Pulpit Crater.
