Description: 2 1/2" buff paper-cased cartridge with rolled turnover. The head is brass plated steel. Loaded with No. 4 lead shot.
Description: a 16 bore has a standard load of 1 ounce of shot. This is an unusual cartridge as it could not have been made before 1926, was made when pinfire guns were verging on the obsolete (manufacture of new pinfire guns had ceased for all practical purposes in 1914, when they were already obsolescent), and it was loaded with 'Smokeless Diamond' powder. Most pinfires were made in the black powder era.
