bullet : configuration : flat tipped with copper tube in nose
Reference: Barnes, F C : 1972 : Cartridges of the World : Digest Books Inc : : p 116. Description: although called an 'Express' round, this did not match the performence of the later Winchester .50-110. The .50-95 was introduced in 1879 for the Winchester Model 1876, and was also available in the Colt 'Lightning' rifle. With the introduction of the much stronger Winchester Model 1886 and the .50-110 cartridge, the .50-95's star began quickly to wane.
