Physical description
Rectangular pack of khaki canvas, the edges reinforced with brown leather, with brown leather adjustable shoulder straps and an external covering of brown animal fur (mostly worn away). Stitched to the external upper area of the front flap are four small leather loops for the attachment of a messkit, while two leather straps at the lower edge can be fastened to metal buckles (very corroded) fitted to the bottom of the pack. On the underside of the front flap is a large pocket secured by a single leather strap and buckle, while the main interior body of the pack forms a single compartment closed by four flaps (two horizontal, two vertical), secured by two leather straps and buckles (the buckle fasteners are no longer present). Two metal hooks are fitted to the bottom of the pack, while a small leather loop is stitched to each side.
This pack is in overall poor condition, with straps missing, the fur exterior worn away and corroded metal fittings.
