circular silver medal with, on the obverse, Queen Elizabeth II, bust crowned facing right surrounded by the legend "ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D." The reverse depicts Victory winged, robed and helmeted, standing facing left. Her right arm is extended and in her right hand she holds a wreath of laurels. Below the wreath is a winged device and a sword with hilt uppermost. In her left hand she supports a trident. The whole executed in high relief suspender : re-curving with a beaded lower edge and rosette : ribbon : purple & green : purple/green/purple. The clasp which is plain bears the legend ' CANAL ZONE'
