circular silver medal. On the obverse Queen Victoria, bust, wearing small crown surrounded by the legend "VICTORIA D.G. REGINA ET IMPERATRIX F.D." . On the reverse a wreath, made up of roses, thistles and shamrocks, enclosing text and surmounted by a crown : "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 60TH YEAR OF THE REIGN OF QUEEN VICTORIA 20 JUNE 1897" The medal is suspended from a circular ring and the ribbon is 'Garter' blue with two vertical stripes of pale blue at each edge.
