Sultan of Muscat's Armed Forces General Service Medal with clasp for Dhofar

Circular gold medal. The obverse bears crossed daggers, a chain, a dagger sheath and Arabic script. The reverse portrays a mountain scene with reeds underneath and Arabic script above. The ribbon has green, white and red stripes. The clasp bears Arabic script.
Instituted in 1967. Awarded to all ranks of the Sultan's Armed Forces and to all British officers and NCO's on secondment. Qualifying service was 14 days in the Dhofar war zone. Permission was granted by HM Queen for all British personnel to accept and wear this medal.
