Please see Department of Documents for details of Eric Brewerton's career. DFC London Gazette 12 July 1920. Bar to the DFC London Gazette 9 September 1922. Brewerton was embarked on HMS Vindictive flying a 1 1/2 Strutter N5997 and took part in the night raid carried out by RN and RAF contingents against the Bolshevik Fleet in Kronstadt Harbour 17-18 August 1919. The Bar to the DFC was awarded for exceptional flying duties in action in Iraq during the spring of 1920 and later, during the insurrection in July. Brewerton was later involved on active operations in the summer of 1921, bombing tribes in the Rania district. He also took part in the bombing in Rowanduz valley. Brewerton served in Egypt in the 1920s and saw service during the Second World. He retired with the rank of Squadron Leader and died in the late 1970s.
